OLINDA, VICTORIA - HAUNTED MANSION, GREY HOUSE (OLINDA CASTLE) - URBAN LEGEND
The house in Olinda that every school boy and girl seems to know about and/or visited is one that is rife with old urban legends. When I was at school over 20 years ago I heard the same absolutely ridiculous stories back then - how the caretaker would shoot at you, how you had to touch the front door without the ghost getting you, how children had disappeared, the stories go on and on.
The sad truth is that the house is of interesting design, made out of bluestone it appears like an old castle. It is however inhabited by a loving family with children.
The people who own the house have to protect themselves against the natives i.e. the shoolkids that regularly make the trek up to Olinda to visit the house. If it wasn't just the hoardes of touring teens lurking outside the fence that was annoying, its the ongoing vandalisim, trespass, rubbish thrown around and destruction of the surrounding area that is most distressing to the ownersrs and their family.
Imagine having your house invaded by drunken teens on a nightly basis. And YES, unfortunately its the site for regular bing drinking sessions for teens who park outside. The residents have done their best to fight back. With security cameras and large trees and sacking trying to hide some of the house they also have the grounds patrolled by guard dogs and regular visits by the police. All to protect onlookers who have heard the silly stories and believe they are true because they don't own the common sense to not only show respect to others, but to follow their friends like sheep and do as they do.
I have included some photos but do not include the address. Most of you will know the location anyhow but along with local newspapers and the owners we are begging you to show some common sense - THE HOUSE IS NOT HAUNTED AND NEVER HAS BEEN. Please do not visit it and please leave the owners and their family alone.

GHOST IN POP GROUP "WILDLAND" VIDEO
The video was shot in the remote mining town of Glen Davis an old shale mining town located 70 kilometres north of Lithgow in the Capertee Valley.
Glen Davis constituted the only attempt to commercially produce petrol from shale oil in Australia. Rock group Wildland visited there to shoot their video. When the scenes were viewed later, it was discovered that there was a figure of a man standing in the background of one of the shots amid the concrete ruins. The figure did not have a face and the head is disjointed from the body. The camera crew, director, and band swears that there was no one else on the scene. Some speculate that the man may be the spirit of a miner who was killed in an accident or perhaps he is the spirit of a priest who committed suicide near that location.
